HITLER'S YOUTH'S WORKBOOK SHOWS EFFECTS OF ANTI-SEMITIC TEACHINGS
A Hitler Youth's camp class workbook belonging to one Helmut Jonas including photographs and class notes for the period July 20 to Dec. 10, 1936, approx. 60pp. 8vo., in a black paperback lined notebook. The book opens with a few hand-drawn images by the eager student, including a black eagle with cross and sword, a swastika, and a sword with runic symbol beside an essay on the need for 'hard discipline'. He adds photos of the area in which he is staying, Hormersdorff, near Dresden, as well as 18 small photos of his HJ leaders, camp, and friends, who have added their names and addresses on the following pages. At this point, Jonas' 'class' notes begin, showing the indoctrination of the boy, about 12 years-old. He opens with a commentary on Alfred Rosenberg's 'The Myth of the Twentieth Century', being Rosenberg's explanation of the negative influence of the 'Jewish race' in contrast to the 'Aryan race'. Jonas writes: '...what is race Race - groups of creatures that are connected to each other by common appearance and look, common inner experience, views and life passions. breeds in animals. Man is anxious to breed animals of one breed to achieve the highest level of beauty and performance. A blend with inferior traits, promotes a downgrade of the superior breeds, [and] their appearance...A violation of the natural law of Race through blood mixture with inferior blood of other races and peoples not only means decline, of its own inner and outer reputation, but also the right and downfall of a whole people, civilized peoples and civilized states, the world view of National Socialism is based on this knowledge...Our researchers and thinkers have contributed to the fact that today we can see the history of our race and our people properly for the first time. We know today that our people belong to the Nordic race, which has always been a ruler and conqueror race and was the highest among the rest of the races...the Jewish race is the opposite of our Nordic [race]...The Jew and his Jewish - Bolshevik view [are] racially determined. It is the sharpest contrast to our way and our thinking...Jewish worldview, reveals itself after the end of the war in Germany's criminal law, cowardice, natural strength, common stock and moral depravity...' He also writes of racial segregation, and 'the alien race - the Jew...', and continues: '...The Jew also called sub-human, is cowardly, money-fussy, crooked, not open and he [is an] agitator. He strives to decompose racially pure people...He later tries to destroy the world through Bolshevism...a Jew or a Negro can never be a German...'.
