Description:

HIROSHIMA BLAST-FUSED COINS AND MELTED METALS
Rare relics recovered from the immediate blast zone at Hiroshima, including approx. ten Japanese coins of various denominations, all of which have been heat-fused together and warped from the heat of the atomic explosion. Also present from the same grouping are six bits of molten metal, most likely melted bits of other coins, found at the same location. These effects were caused by the heat of the atomic blast generated by the 15 kiloton atomic bomb 'Little Boy' dropped from the Enola Gay on Aug. 6, 1945. From a long-time consignor in Japan who has previously given us a very small number of choice relics from Hiroshima and Nagasaki. WITH: an Aug. 12, 1945 Japanese newspaper with a cover story describing the attack on Hiroshima, suggesting citizens wear white clothing to mitigate burns from future such bomb attacks, etc. Exceptional material that is now becoming nearly impossible to source.
