Included is: copy of the operational orders to attack Hiroshima, 2pp. 4to., Aug. 2, 1945, signed by Enola Gay Pilot PAUL TIBBETS and Navigator THEODORE VAN KIRK; Nagasaki Co-Pilot CHARLES ALBURY A.L.S., 1p. 8vo., 1986, re: selling photos; a 5 x 7 in. color photo of the Enola Gay signed by 509th Composite Group Chaplain WILLIAM B. DOWNEY; postal cover signed by DON REHL, Aircraft Commander, Crew 123 at Wendover Field; signed memoir taken from a magazine of WILLIAM E. JONES, military photographer who captured images of the destroyed Japanese cities; and a commemorative cover signed by RAF Mechanic SID LAWRENCE, a prisoner of the Japanese at Nagasaki when the city was bombed. Ephemera includes a program from 60th anniversary of the liberation of Tinian, a 1957 Christmas Island canceled cover celebrating British atomic bomb tests, a "neutron-irradiated" 1940 Mercury head dime from the Museum of Atomic Energy, and various photo reproductions and reference material. Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
