316. HEINRICH HIMMLER (1900-1945) Hitler's Chief of the Gestapo placed in charge of security and responsible for the construction and operation of extermination camps. Faced with capture, he chose suicide rather than face a hangman's noose at Nuremburg. S.P., "H. Himmler", 3 1/2" x 5 3/4" b/w, a chest, up portrait, boldly signed at bottom. A light, short crease at left margin else very good. Sold with a fascinating letter from a veteran describing how he found the letter in Rhens, Germany in 1945. $700-900
