HENRY HETH (1825 - 1899) Confederate major general who commanded the Department of East Tennessee, succeeded A. P. Hill at Chancellorsville, and commanded the division that precipitated the battle of Gettysburg and which also participated in Pickett's Charge. Partly-printed D.S. "H. Heth " 1p. folio, Charleston, Aug. 6, 1879, in which Caroline M. H. Willis gives general power of attorney to Henry Willis. Boldly signed at lower left, above a signature by one C.S. McNetty. Moderate offsetting to middle portion of document, well clear of signature. Matted in dark brown with a biographical plaque and portrait of Heth, ready to frame. Unexamined out of mat. $300-400
