Description:

HERMANN GORING'S INITIAL HANDSTAMP
Hermann Goring's personal was seal stamp, 2 3/4" tall with a nickel-plated sculpted handle and bronze base which leaves an elaborate "H G" script impression in wax. The style of the initials points to approximate date of 1930, when the letters in Goring's signature were more definitive. Said to have been "liberated" from Goring's desk at Karinhall. The seal is accompanied by a 1979 letter of provenance from a Canadian military appraiser, consultant and auctioneer attesting to the fact that he had obtained this item from a British Army officer. The seal was then offered by fifty-year military experts Mohawk Arms, and was purchased for inclusion in the Evan Lattimer collection, our consignor. Still bearing Mohawk inventory labels, in Lattimer's original file folder. Very good.
