Description:

HERMANN GORING PRESENTATION HUNTING KNIFE
A fine Hermann Goring relic, a hunting dagger, very likely presented to him by a grateful friend following a hunt at his hunting estate, Carinhall. The grip of this fine knife was made from the horn of a chamois goat, or "gams", and the fittings are "835" silver. The steel blade is 6" long and meets a guard which is engraved: "18. Nov. 34", undoubtedly the day of the hunt. The pommel of the dagger displays Goring's coat of arms embellished with oak leaves and acorns at top and bottom. The knife fits into a scabbard which is covered in pebbled green leather with hammered silver fittings at top and bottom and a loop for a hanger attached to the reverse. Favored silversmith Zeitner applied his hallmark and purity stamp on the reverse as well. Very good.
