Fegelein married Eva Braun's sister and served as a liaison between Hitler and Himmler, but in the closing days of the war he was caught attempting to flee and was summarily executed. Good content partly-printed D.S., 2pp. large 4to., Landshut, June 24, 1936. An unidentified SS-Haupsturmfuhrer writes: "...I am asking for the promotion of SS-Obersharfuhrer Anton Ameiser...in the SS-Cavalry 1/R 15 Munich...to SS-Untersturmfuhrer...and to make him leader of SS-Cavalry 1/R 15 Munich...His ancestry documentation was submitted..." On the verso, Fegelein signs confirming that the request for promotion had been forwarded to SS headquarters. The V SS-Cavalry, which was commanded by Fegelein and incorporated the 15th and 17th SS-Cavalries, was tasked with guarding concentration camps and were three years later turned into the SS-Reiterstandarde Totenkopf.
