Description:

HENRY FORD
(1863 - 1947) American automobile manufacturer and founder of the Ford Motor Company, his use of the assembly line revolutionized the industry. Excellent S.P. 8 1/2" x 11" b/w, a fine chest, up portrait boldly signed across his lapel. Mount is slightly toned, more so at the slightly worn margins, but the image is near fine. Sold with a transmittal letter on Ford's personal letterhead signed by his secretary Frank Campsall, 1p. 8vo., Dearborn, Nov. 14, 1925 to noted columnist, fellow Michigander George Matthew Adams (toned, a few tears). Two pieces. We sincerely doubt Ford would have agreed with Adams' famous quote: "There is no such thing as a 'self-made' man. We are made up of thousands of others".
