Henry Clay 1777-1852 American politician, the Great Pacificator who supported the Missouri Compromise and the Compromise of 1850 which sought to avoid a civil war on the issue of states' rights and slavery. A.L.S. 1p. 4to., Ashland, May 30, 1833 to W. F. Dunnica. Clay has re-acquired title to land once owned by him, and is concerned that it may not have been entered for tax purposes. To avoid losing title, he requests that Dunnica look into the matter. With integral free-franked address panel on separate leaf.
