Description:

Hells Angels 1970 Electric Circus Poster
From its inception in 1967, The Electric Circus was one of New York's hippest night spots. Unfortunately, the club, promoted as "the ultimate mixed-media pleasure dome" began losing appeal when seventeen people were injured after a bomb exploded on the dance floor in March 1970. A couple of months later, the Hells Angels sponsored their own "Outrageous Festival of Color & Sound" on May 17th, as Sha Na Na, Children of God, Rare Breed, Thin Ice and others appeared at the East Village venue. By the end of 1971, the Electric Circus closed its doors. The 33" x 20.75" poster is mounted to cardboard backing by doubled-sided tape. There are tack holes in the corners and several light interior wrinkles and creases.
