HEINRICH KODRE
(1899 - 1977) German military officer awarded the Knights Cross, he is most remembered for his active involvement in the July 20th plot to overthrow Hitler and seize the government. Kodre was successful in rounding-up Nazi leaders in Vienna, and successfully avoided the noose by claiming that he had been only following von Sauffenberg's orders. Fine lot of four signed items, includes a hand-drawn military map schematically showing the placement of various military units in the area around Horn, 1p. 16 1/2" x 11 1/2", Vienna, Mar. 2, 1937, signed with rank at bottom, with three other military documents, 23pp. total, 1936-38, initialed "K" with rank, in pencil. Fine.
