HEINRICH HIMMLER
(1900-1945) Nazi German Politician, Reichsfuhrer of the Schutzstaffel (SS) 1929-45. D.S., with his initials 'H H', 2pp. 4to, [n.p.], Oct. 29, 1932, in German. The document comprises three individually signed typed statements, the first by SS-Standartenfuhrer HEINRICH HOFLICH (1895-1983), Munich, Sep. 28, 1932 concerning his proposed appointment of an adjutant; the second statement is signed by SS-Stabsfuhrer MAX HUMPS (1904-1962), Munich, Oct. 4, 1932, asking that Sturmfuhrer Herzberger be confirmed for the appointment; the third statement is signed by SS Oberfuhrer RICHARD HILDEBRANDT (1897-1952) and is addressed to Himmler and dated at Munich, Oct. 12, 1932, also regarding the proposed appointment of Herzberger and stating, in part: 'I request to finally confirm the previous adjutant II/1, who managed the duties of a Standard's adjutant until today to our complete satisfaction, as adjutant of the 1' SS-Standard'. Himmler has provided his approval and confirmation of the appointment by initialing the document in bold red indelible pencil and adding the date 29 October 1932 in his hand. Stamped and docketed. Two file holes to the left edge and with a few very small, neat tears to the edges, very good. Willy Herzberger (1895- ) was a German SS-Sturmbannfuhrer, the second chief of the so-called Fuhrer Accompanying Command, later assuming overall command. Max Humps (1904-1962) was a German SS-Oberfuhrer whose daughter, Traudl, married Hans Hermann Junge, an SS officer attached to the Reichs Chancellery, in 1942. Traudl Junge served as Adolf Hitler's last private secretary from December 1942 to April 1945.
