Description:

HEINRICH HIMMLER PRESENTATION ALLACH "KINDERFRIES"
A rare Heinrich Himmler presentation piece, an elborate Allach "Kinderfries" awarded to a member of the SS upon the on the birth of a fourth child. The 6 1/4" wide and 5 1/2" tall candle holder bears a slightly cupped dish surrounding the candle hole to catch dripping wax. Beneath is a cylinder with a repeating design of standing infant boys and girls with a ribbon joining them and billowing behind them. The designer of this relief image, Prof. Theodore Karner, described this design as "the chain of life", a family chain which would last forever. This column is in turn supported by four legs with rolled bottoms. One leg bears the name and date of the newborn child in relief: "Marlis 30. 9. 1939." while the other three legs bear "life" runes. The design of the candle holder itself was undertaken by SS officer and founding Allach artist Prof. Karl Diebitsch, so this piece is a collaborative effort of two of the most prominant Allach artists. Very fine condition, with no chips, scratches, or any other damage.
