Description:

HEINRICH HIMMLER, OSWALD POHL AND KARL WOLFF
Rare association of three of the top SS leaders of the Third Reich on one item. Offered here is a postcard photograph of Admont Abbey in Austria. The verso bears an Apr. 4, 1941 A.L.S. of KARL WOLFF (1906-1975), a Colonel-general in the Waffen-SS who served as liaison officer for Himmler with Hitler, and later was German military governor of Northern Italy. Signing with his 'pet' or nickname of 'Peter' but writing 'Wolff' in the address area, he pens a brief, friendly letter of greeting to his wife Frida ('Peterlen') whom he married in 1928. Beneath Wolff's signature appears that of HEINRICH HIMMLER, who adds a one-line greeting, and beneath Himmler's signature appears that of OSWALD POHL (1892-1951), Head of the Economic Office of the SS and ultimate overseer of the concentration camp system, captured and executed. Fine condition. Undoubtedly, the trio was in Admont to visit Himmler's art collection, which was stored in the Admont Abbey.
