(1884-1972) 33rd President of the United States who led the country in the closing days of World War II and through the re-building of Europe under the Marshall Plan and the Korean War. T.L.S. on his Independence, Mo. personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., Apr. 18, 1969 to five-term Alabama Sen. J. Lister Hill. Truman apologizes for not writing to his old colleague sooner following a hospital stay, adding: "...I am glad to report that I am feeling fine again. The Florida sunshine did me a lot of good and we got a good rest..." Fine.
