HARRY S. TRUMAN
Good content T.L.S. 1p. 4to., on his personal letterhead, Independence, Mo., Apr. 15, 1959 to veteran journalist and radio broadcaster Charter Heslep. Truman opens apologizing for not seeing Heslep personally when he visited Truman's presidential library, adding "...I am very happy that you found the Library of interest...What the objective is, is to make a collection of the studies of all the Presidents and see to it that the youngsters understand it in words of one syllable...". Truman then adds "You have a most wonderful library and I hope you keep adding to it. I also hope when the time comes for you to pass on that you will leave it to this institution where all the books will be public documents...". Incidentally Heslep's papers were donated to the Truman Library in 1964. Usual creases, else fine condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
