Description:

Rare, good association typed D.S., 1p. 4to., Berlin, Feb. 10, 1926, signed by both HANS VON SEECKT (1866-1936), Commander-in-Chief of the German Army from 1920-1926, and OTTO GESSLER (1875-1955), Minister of Defense during the Weimar Republic, promoting Werner Frieherr von Fritsch to Oberstleutnant and promoting Otto von Stulpnagel to Oberst. Fritsch would later rise to Commander-in-Chief of the German Army from 1925 to 1938, when he was forced to resign after being falsely accused of being a homosexual in the Blomberg-Fritsch Affair. Stulpnagel would later become the military commander of occupied France, and after being arrested for war crimes by the French, would commit suicide in prison. Identifying inscriptions added in light pencil next to the signatures, else very good to fine condition. A fine association of early, prominent German military leaders.
