Description:

HANS FRANK WRITES A LOVE LETTER TO HIS MISTRESS
HANS FRANK (1900 - 1946) Nazi occupational Governor of Poland, partly responsible for the genocide perpetrated there. Good content war-date A.L.S. "Hans" on his "Reichsminister Hans Frank" letterhead, 4pp. 4to., Kressendorf, Feb. 20, 1943, to his mistress, Lilli Groh, in part: "...I would like to tell you that this week''s program will do others - which will be prepared next week (including a trip to Slovakia) and, above all, a speedy return to Munich. And - and, oh Lilli - in such dreams I sway. You are constantly and happily rejoicing in everything and everyone - looking - refreshing - liberating in me, around me, in front of me: one can only love like this under divine vocation ... All the words of a letter are a helpless search for words, which in me longs for is, after the fate, finally pleasing me. Lilli! What I have in life power and creativity - you have awakened! Thanks to you I have this unimpeachable vitality with which I now have such a terribly difficult task to master. Today I would have to tell you about many worries in the country and war - and you would just take my hand, look at me unspeakably dearly and say: Everything will be alright!..." Shows folds, else very good. Includes a typed transcription. Personal letters from high ranking Third Reich figures - especially to their mistresses - are extraordinarily rare.
