Description:

GUARD AT LITZMANNSTADT WRITES ON LIQUIDATION 1943
Fine content A.L.S. 2pp. 4to., Litzmannstadt, Sept. 7, 1943, on letterhead showing a Nazi soldier's portrait. A guard named Sepp writes to "Anneliese", in part: "...Again one month is over and it shouldn't be long until I finally get a holiday. I am so glad when I finally get away from this location. Slowly the Ghetto is getting smaller and we don't have to patrol much. But nevertheless, the situation isn't relaxed - the Jews get more brazen from day to day, but we are still masters of in the house. What's going on with Eberhardt? Has he been released from the Army hospital? Anneliese, if you have time on the 21st, it would be kind of you to pick me up at the station. I even have to take my complete equipment out of Litzmannstadt. This stuff is pretty heavy. Well, other than that there is no news and I am very much looking forward to when we see each other...Sieg Heil Sepp". Fine.
