Description:

GROVER CLEVELAND
(1837 - 1908) 22nd and 24th President of the United States, supported civil service and fiscal reform. Fine S.P., a cabinet photo showing Cleveland in a three-quarters bust pose, boldly signed at top left adding date: "Mar 15, 1908". Originally Cleveland had begun signing this photograph on the dark portion of his jacket, penning only the word "Grover", now only barely visible, before stopping. A newspaper clipping is affixed on verso giving the details of the former President's 71st birthday celebration three days later on March 18th, with an ink notation. One corner chipped and small tear at left, affecting nothing. Very good condition.
