Description:

GROVER CLEVELAND
(1837 - 1908) Twenty-second and twenty-fourth President of the United States, supported civil service and fiscal reform. Fine S.P., a cabinet card by B. F. Powelson of Buffalo, New York, showing Cleveland in head and shoulders. Boldly signed at top: "Grover Cleveland March 15, 1908". Cleveland originally began signing his autograph on the darker portion of his jacket, then abandoned it after "Grover", which is still slightly visible. Small tear to emulsion at left edge, top right corner barely clipped, and a newspaper clipping affixed to verso and obscuring much of the photographer's backstamp, else very good condition.
