761. SAMUEL D. GROSS (1805 - 1884) Pioneering American surgeon who wrote the first treatise entitled "Gross' Elements of Pathological Anatomy" (1834), the first effort in English to present the subject systematically. His "System of Surgery..." is considered one of the greatest surgical treatises ever written. Exceedingly rare A.D.S. Light toning with a bit of loss to corners, a central hole not affecting text, overall very good condition, and certainly rare. $400 - 600
