673. ROBERT RITTER VON GREIM (1892 - 1945) German Field Marshal and later head of the Luftwaffe, a Knights Cross winner. Fearing torture and execution at the hands of his Soviet captors, he took cyanide uttering his final words: "I am the head of the Luftwaffe, but I have no Luftwaffe". S.P., 2" x 3 1/2", n.p., n.d., a b/w left profile bust image, signed on the lower margin. Note on the verso states: "Genobst [Col. Gen. - before his promotion to Field Marshal] Ritter v. Griem".
