GREGORY "PAPPY" BOYINGTON
(1912 - 1988) American military aviator with 28 "kills", his "Black Sheep" squadron harassed Japanese forces in the Solomons late in the war. His volume Baa Baa Black Sheep (New York: G. Putnam's, 1958), third impression hardbound, boldly inscribed and signed opposite the frontis portrait. Along with a T.L.S. of MATTHEW RIDGWAY, 1p. 4to., Pittsburgh, Nov. 10, 1958, to Capt. E. A. Rush inviting him to attend the Anniversary Day Ceremonies at The Point. Two pieces, very good.
