741. LAWRENCE P. GRAHAM (1815-1905) Union brigadier general and Indian fighter who served in action at Yorktown. Choice war-date Manuscript L.S. "L.P. Graham Brig. Genl.," 1p, 4to, Baltimore, Dec. 31, 1862, to the Adjutant General of the Army, "Brigadier General L. Thomas". Graham writes: "I have the honor to request authority to visit the City of Washington on important private and also on official business". Slight ink-blotting to Graham's signature, otherwise very good. Graham was mustered out of the volunteers in August of 1865 with the brevet of brigadier general, but continued in the Regular Army until his retirement in December 1870. $150-200
