(1858 - 1924) Italian operatic composer whose works include La Boheme, Tosca and Madame Butterfly. Fine A.L.S., 1p., 4to., Milano, June 21st, 1916, a letter in Italian to business agent Antonio Bettolacci, making plans for an upcoming Sunday: "Dear Tonino, On Saturday we will arrive in Torre, also on Sunday if you will be there I may come to see you. any best to everybody...". Boldly signed, "G Puccini". In addition to working as Puccini's business agent, Bettolacci was also one of the composer's best friends. Elegantly matted in linen with red fillets and set in a fine 15" x 18" gold and red wood frame with a printed image of the composer; the transmittal cover addressed in Puccini's hand is also presented in a panel on verso. Fine.
