Description:

GERMAN YOUTH ORGANIZATION EDUCATIONAL BOOKLETS
Varied lot of twelve training and educational booklets from various German youth organizations of the Weimar and Third Reich eras, includes: Five issues of "Fuhrerblatter der Hitler Jugend", dated March, June, August, and September (2) of 1936. This publication contained various lessons and activities for Hitler Youth, with a particular focus on geopolitical issues, and features a fine selection of line maps. WITH: Three issues of "Rheinische Jugend", dated April of 1932 and May and June of 1933. This publication bills itself as the only journal covering all of the youth organizations in the Rhineland region, and covers each group's events and meetings, while also providing news and other articles. Several articles deal with NSDAP rallies and speeches by Hitler, at a time when he was consolidating the power of the party. WITH: Two issues of "Die Schar", dated spring and autumn of 1933. This was the journal of the German Youth Gymnastics Organization, which was dissolved after the rise of the NSDAP in 1934, and much of its membership absorbed into the Hitler Youth. WITH: One issue of "Deutsches Jungvolk Fuhrerdienst", dated January 1937. This publication was to be used by DJ leaders in educating and training the membership of that organization. This issue contains songs, a quote from HJ head Baldur von Schirach, and other activities. WITH: One issue of "Junge Heimat", dated 1941. This was a educational and activity book given to children in the KLV program, which evacuated children from their homes in urban centers to the safety of the countryside. The publication features a color photograph of children in school on the cover, and contains articles on English air raids, HJ and BDM activities, a Bulgarian HJ rally, a biography of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria, instructions on constructing model boats, a song mocking the British army's retreat at Dunkirk, and various crossword puzzles, chess puzzles, and word scrambles, some of which have been completed by a former owner. All bear some edge wear and toning, else very good.
