Description:

GERMAN "STURMPISTOLE" COMBINATION GRENADE LAUNCHER AND FLARE GUN
VERY RARE EARLY GERMAN ATTEMPT AT A GRENADE LAUNCHER A Very rare German "Sturmpistole" ("Assault-Pistol"), an early war attempt to create an anti-tank weapon which could be used by any infantryman. The pistol and assembly was developed in 1936 by the Walther company. This example includes a black "ayf 42" (Erma Factory, 1942) rifled barrel flare pistol with checkered Bakelite grips, the barrel engraved with a large "Z" on the left and standard "Eagle 280" Waffenamt proofs on right as well, serial no. 6676. A lever serves as the front of the trigger guard, and when activated, it opens the spring-assisted barrel. There are two desert camo steel fittings attached to the flare gun. These include a barrel attachment fitted with a folding sight for use when a grenade is launched, and a rear section which is comprised of a folding stock with original beige padded butt. The rear attachment is fitted to the grip of the gun by means of three fixing screws with knurled ends. A wide opening allows the user access to the weapon''s hammer. Included are four inert rounds, including an "egg on a stick" grenade, a shaped charge round, an impact round, and a round fitted fith fins, all inert. In perfect working order, fine condition. This weapon was soon outclassed by the more modern anti-tank rifles, the Panzerfaust and the Panzerschreck. In excellent condition, and very resonably estimated.
