Description:

Substantial collection of thirty Third Reich era documents and photos all belonging to Emil Schlepitzka, a member of the Heer Motorcycle Infantry, and his wife Christine. Documents for Emil include: Two ausweis's or identity cards, allied travel permit, bicycle license, driver's license, and a driver's license for motorcycles. Documents for his wife Christine, include: three ausweis's, two kennkartes, and an arbeitsbuch. Photos include: headshots of Emil, him and other soldiers goofing off on their motorcycles, and the LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin in flight; WITH two letters written by Emil to his wife in 1944, and a postcard he sent her; WITH Wehrmacht letterhead featuring the profile of a soldier at the top left; WITH a German Infantry Assault Badge, 1.75 x 2.25 in., zinc composition with a silver finish which has been largely lost. Unmarked. The badge depicts an oval wreath featuring a German national eagle gripping a swastika at the top and a rifle set diagonally through the wreath. Awarded to SS or Wehrmacht soldiers who had participated in three or more significant infantry engagements; WITH A pair of German pins from World War II, including an NSKOV donation pin, marked ‘W 8' on the reverse and a 1942 Day of German Police pin, marked ‘W 2' on the reverse.

Due to complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will ship with USPS Priority Mail only if the buyer submits their request to us in writing and accepts responsibility for delayed shipments. Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
