Description:

(1875 - 1953) German field marshal who led the blitzkrieg attack on France, seizing the country within two weeks, defeated by Allied forces in Normandy and in the desperate Battle of the Bulge. Fine association A.L.S. "Rundstedt" 1p. 8vo., on the verso of an unsigned A.L.S. from his friend and fellow general GUNTHER BLUMENTRITT (1892 - 1967), Eppershausen, June 1, 1951, in part: "My good Petronius [nickname for Blumentritt], Thank you for the cigarettes!! Marksmen's festival four days long, but was not strenuous with a lot of beer and schnapps! Enclosed a letter from Mr. Heath returned. Hopefully he is now satisfied! My wife is driving to Tolz but I don't envy her. Best regards to the ladies and again thank you and greetings..." He signs boldly at the conclusion in blue ink. Shows original mailing folds and well-repaired file holes at the left edge, else very good.

International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
