(1913 - 2006) 38th President of the United States who assumed office upon the resignation of Richard Nixon, who Ford later pardoned for any involvement in the Watergate scandal. A wonderful pair of items from the estate of ROD MCKUEN. Included is an enormous I.S.P. 'Jerry Ford' as President, 13.75 x 18 in. color, Washington, [Jan. 19, 1977], inscribed to McKuen: 'To my good friend, Rod McKuen, in appreciation of your great support and many kindnesses. We look forward to more opportunities to work together for a better country. With warmest wishes. Jerry Ford' Double-matted for presentation purposes to an overall size of 14.2 x 20 in., but the photograph itself is indeed signed. WITH: a 4.25 x 6.75 in. (sight) menu for a dinner held at the White House on December 6, 1976, matted with a photograph of Ford talking with McKuen, overall size 18 x 9.75 in. Menu bears a few tiny stains, else fine. ROD MCKUEN (1933–2015) was an American poet, singer-songwriter, and actor. He was one of the best-selling poets of the 1960s, his work dealing with themes of love, the natural world and spirituality. McKuen's songs sold over 100 million recordings worldwide, and 60 million books of his poetry were sold as well. McKuen brought Jacques Brel to the attention of Americans as well.
