GEORGE IV OF ENGLAND (1762-1830) King of Great Britain and Ireland from 1820 until his death in 1830, he was also Prince Regent from 1811 until 1820. Fine content manuscript D.S., 6pp. 4to., Carlton Palace, Dec. 31, 1820, in small part: "Our Will and Pleasure is that you forthwith cause the Great Seal of Our United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland to be affixed to an Instrument bearing date with the Presents (a Copy whereof is hereunto annexed) containing Our Acceptance of an Act of Accession on the part of the Swiss Confederation to a Convention concluded at Aix-la-Chapelle on the ninth day of October 1818, for the Evacuation of the French Territory by the Allied Troops..." The warrant appends a copy of this Act of Accession in the original French, as concluded at the Congress of Aix-la-Chapelle on October 9, 1818, dictating the evacuation of France by British, Austrian, Prussian and Russian units following the defeat of France in the Napoleonic Wars. George signs boldly at the top of the first page in black ink, affixing his paper and wax seal at top left. Shows original folds, else very good to fine.
