Description:

GEORGE H. W. BUSH
(1924 - 2018) Forty-first President of the United States who ordered the attack on Iraq to liberate Kuwait. Important association I.S.P., 8 x 10 in. color, inscribed to JAMES BRADY (1940-2014). Brady is shown in a wheelchair seated before Bush who signs in full, and by First Lady BARBARA BUSH (1925-2018) who writes: 'Thanks for coming' and signs 'Barbara'. Fine condition. James Brady had served President Ronald Reagan and Bush as 17th White House Press Secretary. 1981, Brady became permanently disabled from a gunshot wound during the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan by John Hinckley Jr., just two months and 10 days after Reagan's inauguration. His wounding brought forth the 'Brady Bill', essentially outlawing the sale of 'assault weapons'. Brady's death in 2014 was eventually ruled a homicide, caused by the gunshot wound he received 33 years earlier.
