Custer... of Monroe, Michigan sell for E1 00 a twenty acre tract of land in Ash County of Monroe to Jacob Farnsworth, with the added notation .. given to correct error in a former Deed executed by said Elizabeth... to said party . In 1866 Custer was seeking a command following the end of the Civil War, and in July was awarded command of the 7th Cavalry with which he would die ten years later. Light toning at folds and light marginal stain, text and signatures are unaffected. Of course, a great association!
