WILLIAM ROWLAND RICHARDSON (b. 1929) U.S. Army four-star general and former commander of the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), charged with overseeing training of Army forces and the development of operational doctrine. Ca. 1983 U.S. Army 'Coat, Combat, Woodland Camouflage Pattern', a BDU-style uniform with his subdued cloth four stars insignia sewn to each lapel, a subdued cloth name tape 'Richardson' sewn above his right top pocket flap, and an embroidered cloth 'US Army' tape sewn just above the name tape. Sewn above the US Army tape is a subdued cloth Basic Parachutist award insignia, and above that is a subdued cloth Combat Infantryman's 2nd Award insignia. All insignia are in perfect shape. The upper right shoulder bears a subdued cloth patch for service in the 23rd Infantry Division, and the upper left shoulder bears a subdued cloth patch for service in the Replacement School and Command. The uniform has been custom tailored to remove all of the dual inner buttons on all four pockets, professionally replaced with velcro instead. Sold with General Richardson's original 1981 dated, 'Cap, Combat, Woodland Camouflage Pattern', which has his four black color General's stars affixed at the front. Each in very good to fine condition. During General Richardson's lengthy military history, he saw infantry combat twice in both Korea and Vietnam, so earning an impressive 21 awards and decorations. Shipments are sent via FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option. Due to complications from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we will ship with USPS Priority Mail only if the buyer submits their request to us in writing and accepts responsibility for delayed shipments. Signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
