GEN. ROBERT C. RICHARDSON III FLIGHT SUIT AND G-SUIT
Flight suit and G-suit owned and used by Gen. Robert C. Richardson III while a colonel in early post-war Air Force flights, ca. 1950-60. The flight suit, a Type K-2B very light flying suit, bears standard zippered pockets on left sleeve, chest, and legs. Small brown leather colonel's insignia is sewn to each shoulder, and a leather name patch is affixed to the left breast. An Air Force insignia has been printed on the left sleeve. Richardson's Type 6-3A G-suit, made by Munsingwear, is enclosed within a green nylon bag bearing his stenciled name. It is complete with all lacing and bladders appear intact, with Air Force logo painted on this garment as well. Also included are two "Pilot's Hand Book 83rd Fighter Day Group", each 3" x 5" with plasticized sheets bearing emergency procedures and checklists carried by Richardson while flying an unidentified aircraft. The last crucial bit of crucial information in one notebook is a recipe for a "Banana Daiquiri". Overall very good condition.
