Description:

'G-2 HISTORY SEVENTH ARMY OPERATIONS IN EUROPE'
Very rare publication issued by the Seventh Army, 'G-2 HISTORY SEVENTH ARMY OPERATIONS IN EUROPE', approx. 300pp. legal folio in color printed covers, the entirety stamped or printed 'RESTRICTED' and covering the period from August 15, 1944, until the end of the war. An incredibly detailed report on the movements, daily combat reports summaries, losses, intelligence, etc. of the Seventh Army, also including maps and statistics, and including far more detail that one could begin to set forth here. This is an invaluable tool for those studying the Seventh Army and American operations in Europe. Overall fine. The Seventh Army participated in the landings in southern France (Operation Dragoon), then assaulted the German forces in the Vosges Mountains and broke into the Alsatian Plain. During the Battle of the Bulge, it extended its flanks to take over much of the area that had been the responsibility of Third Army which allowed the Third to relieve Bastogne. In mid-January 1945, the Seventh engaged in pitched battle seeking to regain ground lost to Germany's Operation Nordwind New Year's offensive. Along with the French First Army, the Seventh went on the offensive in February 1945 and eliminated the Colmar Pocket.
