FRIEDRICH PAULUS
(1890 - 1957) German field marshal who commanded the Sixth Army's assault on Stalingrad. Approximately 270,000 soldiers under his command were encircled and defeated in a massive Soviet counterattack, with 740,000 casualties. Paulus surrendered a day after he was promoted to Generalfeldmarschall as Hitler expected him to commit suicide. Rare war-date D.S. "Paulus" as commander of the Sixth Army, 2pp. large 4to., "Russia", [n.d.], a list of 21 men to be awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd Class. Fine.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
