Fridtjof Nansen 1861-1930 Norwegian explorer who headed the first expedition across Greenland, attempted to reach the North Pole by drifting and later led an expedition as far north as 86.14 deg. A.L.S 1p. 8vo., Lysaker, Jan. 18, 1927 in Norwegian to Minister Swenson. Nansen relates that He would like to accept an invitation to lecture for the American Philosophical Society, but further advises that He must check his schedule.
