FRENCH KEPIS
Good group of three World War II-era and later French military kepis, include: French Foreign Legion officer's kepi, with stiff light grey wool sides and a red wool crown decorated with elaborately interwoven silver piping. A wire bullion "flaming shell" is affixed at front, and the cap also features a silver ribbon chinstrap affixed over a treated black leather bill. The interior is fitted with a light brown leather sweat band and lined with rouched gold silk, with a plastic sweat shield protecting a label identifying the retailer as Delion of Paris. The initials "G.L." are also embossed in silver on the underside of the bill. Fine. WITH: French Foreign Legion enlisted man's kepi of white cloth with a treated leather bill covered with black plastic, and with a black plastic chinstrap secured over the bill. The interior is fitted with a black faux-leather sweatband and lined with rouched white fabric, with a plastic sweat shield. The kepi shows no markings. Very good to fine. WITH: French kepi of dark blue wool construction, with an interwoven wire bullion decoration at the crown, bearing a gold wire bullion anchor at the front, possibly indicating use by Marine Police. A gold ribbon chinstrap is affixed over a black treated leather bill. The interior if fitted with a black faux-leather sweatband bearing the size stamp 57, and lined with rouched yellow fabric with a plastic sweat shield. No other markings are present. Very good. Three pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
