Fine content typed D.S. as Governor of New York, 2pp. 4to., Albany, July 15, 1929, a document appointing "An Extraordinary Special and Trial Term of the Supreme Court...to continue so long as may be necessary for the purpose of inquiring into any and all unlawful acts in connection with or arising out of the management and affairs of the City Trust Company, its predecessor and allied or related institutions...". Roosevelt further appoints "...Honorable Arthur S. Tompkins, of the County of Rockland, who is a Justice of the Supreme Court...to hold the said Extraordinary Special and Trial Term...". Signed just three months before the demise of the stock market in October. Folds, overall very good condition, bearing the original gold-foil seal on second page.
