Party-pooper Roosevelt refuses to provide music for a baseball game! In part: ...[I received your request] that a section of the Marine Band be detailed to furnish music at the ball game to be played by the Democratic and Republican Congressmen at the American League Baseball Park... in accordance with the directions of the President, the Marine Band will b required to play its regular concert in Potomac Park... it will be impracticable to divert a section of the Band. Nevertheless, as President Roosevelt usually enjoyed the support of both parties! Very good.
