Description: FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT
(1882 - 1945) Thirty-second President of the United States who instituted the "New Deal" programs and who led the United States through most of World War II. Very late signature "Franklin D. Roosevelt" on the margin of a sheet of three-cent stamps honoring the first transatlantic crossing of a steamship in 1819. Additionally signed by his Secretary of the Interior, HAROLD ICKES. A nice association piece as F.D.R. was an avid stamp collector. Fine condition.
