FRANK HAWKS
(1897 - 1938) American record breaking aviator, he set 214 point-to-point records in the United States and Europe. Killed in an experimental aircraft. I.S.P. 10" x 8" b/w, a terrific side view of a Texaco monoplane inscribed: "To Dick Happy landings! Frank Hawks". A few edge faults, else fine. From the estate of Richard "Dick" Blythe (1894-1941). Blythe was himself a distinguished pilot who took part in the first aerial circumnavigation of the Great Lakes, co-founded the Order of Quiet Birdmen, and was a close friend of Charles Lindbergh, managing publicity for his famous trans-Atlantic flight.
