FITZHUGH LEE
(1835 - 1905) Confederate major general and nephew of Robert E. Lee who directed troops in Stuart's ride around McClellan, and fought at Antietam and Gettysburg. He also cut his way out of Appomattox only to surrender two days later. A.L.S. 2pp. 8vo., Richmond, Sept. 3, 1865 to Andrew Boyd concerning his request for "...an old letter or autograph of my uncle Gen Lee..." and noting enclosure of "...an envelope of a communication addressed to me in his own handwriting with his autograph on upper corner...". Tipped to a mat bearing a mounted CDV of Lee and ready to frame. Usual folds, otherwise very good.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
