FILLMORE EAST TICKET SALES BOOKS
A rare set of five ticket sales receipt books from the "glory days" of the rock concert hall, the Fillmore East in New York City. These receipt books contain carbon copies of ticket sales made at record stores, etc. The original receipt would be handed to the client who would present it at the box office "Will Call" window on the day of the show, and these ticket books were retained as proof of sale. Thus, the records within these books are relics of some of the historic rock shows held at the Fillmore. The great majority of these 1969 receipt copies are light but legible. Among the 250 receipts are tickets sales for the Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa and the Mothers, Procol Harum, The Who, Jeff Beck, John Mayall, Led Zeppelin, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Creedence, Steppenwolf, The Band, and others.
