A very rare cloth helmet cover that would have been worn by a German medic in a paratrooper unit. Featuring a red cross on white background at the front, the cover is designed in the circular shape of an M38 Fallshrimager helmet. A single, folded-over seam appears at the back of the cover. Six hooks with two eyes each have been sewn to the interior of the cover and remain firmly attached. Ink stamped on the rim of the interior is 'BR 68[?]' and 'Franz Schwab Fanebruck[?].' Cloth and paint show no evidence of fluorescence, the paint age-cracked as expected. Scattered stains with a few small holes to the top and sides. A virtually impossible helmet cover to authenticate, therefore sold as is and estimated accordingly.
