Description:

Scarce Italian book: 'Mostra Della Rivoluzione Fascista' by Alfieri and Luigi Freddi (Rome: Office of the Italian Institute of Graphic Arts), 1933. 258pp. 8vo., cloth pictorial covers. Broken at gutter, else very good. A heavily illustrated description of the Exhibition of the Fascist Revolution, a show held in Rome at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni from 1932 to 1934. Opened by Benito Mussolini on 28 October 1932, it had four million visitors. Telling the evolution of Italian history from 1914 to the March on Rome, it was a work of Fascist propaganda to influence and involve the audience emotionally. There is a presentation inscription on the front flyleaf in German dated Verona, Sep. 11, 1933 by a 'Dante' offering thanks to the recipient for his support for the 'revolution'. The first page bears an in rubber-stamp reading 'Reinhard Heydrich' although there is no further provenance to prove this belonged to the infamous SS officer.
