1329. RONALD EVANS (1933 - 1990) Apollo astronaut, flew on Apollo 7 and 11, and Apollo 17, his only space flight in which he holds the record for the longest lunar orbit. Scarce signed relic, being a 9" x 9" swath of beta cloth from Apollo 17, bearing a bold inscription above the mission's insignia. In full: "Doc Kaiser, This beta cloth crew patch was rejected for use on our space suits during Apollo 17 flight to the moon 6-19 Dec 1972 Ron Evans Apollo 17 CMP a Nov 87". A moderate stain at top right, well-clear of text. Very good condition, nice for display. $150 - 200
